Know more about Muslim Halal food

Do you know what Muslim halal food is? Halal and haraam are two widely used terms in Islam. Halal refers to lawful or permitted whereas haraam means unlawful or restricted. In simple words, halal food is the food permitted for consumption as per Islamic law.

The demand for Muslim Halal food, including halal lamb and halal pies has increased by an approximate 15% a year. It is believed that the slaughtering of an animal with a knife is the most painful and tortuous act of killing. According to various scientific experiments carried out in non-Muslim countries, the Islamic method of slaughtering with a knife is the least painful act of killing and therefore considered as the most humane process of killing an animal.

On the other hand, the method adopted in western countries for killing an animal is said to be extremely brutal. Moreover, this killing process can lead to the spread of various diseases such as Mad Cow disease (MCD) from cattle to human beings. With the rising Muslim community all across the world, the demand for Muslim halal food has also increased a lot. Not only Muslims but other people also prefer consuming Muslim halal food to promote this humane method of killing an animal.
